简 介:In statistics, the analysis and model selection is important, which should be based on hypothesis and data structure. In statistics, linear regression is an approach to model the relationship between a scalar dependent variable y and one or more explanatory variables denoted X. We will discuss its basic assumption and classic approach. However, the research on linear regression still going on. I will discuss the modern topics in linear regression.

简 介:Binary response and multinomial response data modeling are common used in variety area. Logistic regression measures the relationship between a categorical dependent variable and one or more independent variables, which are usually continuous, the simple one is binary response. But there are large numbers of extensions: Multinomial logistic regression handles the case of a multi-way categorical dependent variable (with unordered values, also called 'classification'). ordered logistic regression (or ordered logit) handles ordinal dependent variables (ordered values). Mixed logit is an extension ofmultinomial logit that allows for correlations among the choices of the dependent variable.

简 介:Survival analysis deals with analysis of time to events, such as death in biological organisms and failure in mechanical systems. This topic is called reliability theory or reliability analysis in engineering, and duration analysis or duration modeling in economics or event history analysis in sociology. Survival analysis attempts to answer questions such as: what is the proportion of a population which will survive past a certain time? Of those that survive, at what rate will they die or fail? Can multiple causes of death or failure be taken into account? How do particular circumstances or characteristics increase or decrease the probability of survival?

We will discuss non-parametric, semi-parametric and parametric modeling in survival analysis. And how to use SAS to perform survival analysis.

李元章教授简介 李元章教授于1990年在美国Nebraska – Lincoln 大学获得统计学博士学位。现任美国华尔特?里德陆军研究院 (Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, WRAIR) 的资深统计学家(Senior Statistician)和项目主持人,博士后合作导师,乔治华盛顿大学(George Washington University)统计系兼职教授,Stanley医学研究所的统计咨询师,应用统计陆军会议(Army Conference of Applied Statistics)的执行委员。同时担任中南工业大学、兰州大学客座教授。李教授长期从事生物统计学、流行病学、诊断医学、社会科学以及工业工程等领域的理论和应用研究,并在这些领域做出了卓越的研究工作。研究成果四十余篇在统计、生物医学等国际知名期刊发表并出版多部学术专著。
